Gilroy is a highly trained counsellor and behavioural consultants with extensive experience in Commercial Health, NHS and Voluntary sectors.

His qualifications include - BA, and Certificate in Group Analytic Psychotherapy together with a Counselling Diploma, RMN, CPN, and Critical Incident Management.

He has held a number of senior management posts in the NHS and commercial companies.  He has chaired the Manchester Action Group for the Health Care of Ethnic Minorities, been a member of the NHS Patient Strategy Group, and Non-Executive Director Mental Health Services of Salford NHS Trust.

Under his leadership Affect Solutions aim to into a 'market leader' providing Occupational Psychological health services to private industry, statutory sector, voluntary agencies and to individuals across the UK.

Over the past 35 years working in mental health care and management, Gilroy has developed into a skilled facilitator with a wide network of contacts in sectors above. Has a sound understanding of commercial and public workplaces in general and in occupational and psychological health needs in particular.

He has consulted extensively with businesses and professional organisations providing Employee Personal Health Insurance, Health Risk Management and Vocational Rehabilitation, Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP) and Voluntary Community Actions for influencing health. He has developed effective and technically sound provider networks to deliver EAP services across the world. He has developed substantial knowledge and understanding of race and mental health, Black people working in organisations and delivering support and coaching to employees and managers to enable personal development and organisational growth.

Gilroy is a trained therapist and has provided several hundred hours of personal assessment therapy for individuals conducted many sessions of Critical Incident and Post-trauma support and is well respected for his clinical skills within the EAP industry
